Asterix - an institution!

I have blogged about it before but it always intrigues me how often the Asterix books appear on the Best Seller lists that we pull up from the online retailers.

He is an absolute institution and his stories never seem to get old and cross every single generation of kids.

I don't think that there are too many book characters who could be considered as influential as Asterix and Obelix and I reckon 50 years from now they will still be going strong.

So for that reason I thought I would highlight the following from Fanatics and Exclusive Books:

Celebrate Asterix’s 50th Anniversary with Exclusive Books this July!

Almost every single Asterix story features reference to Obelix falling into the Getafix’s cauldron of magic potion when he was about six years old. This was the event through which he derived his phenomenal physical strength.

Do you ever wonder how it happened? Read the full story in the new Asterix book (How Obelix Fell into the Magic Potion).
